SHAM Digital is a technology and venture studio in Dar es Salaam. We find real problems in African markets, build products around them, and run those products as businesses.

Our story

Started with one problem. Built into a family.

SHAM began as a single question: why does a farmer who has sold reliably for ten years arrive at a bank with no record of it?

Answering it meant building the record, the market and the payment together. The same pattern showed up again and again. A shop keeps its sales in a notebook. A lorry returns empty because nobody can see it. A family cannot pay a clinic on the day it matters.

Each of those problems became a product. Today the portfolio covers agriculture, retail, logistics, health, home services, business software and AI. Every product is a brand of one company, built by one team, on shared foundations.

What the words mean here.

We build, own and run our products. We are not an agency and we do not take client work.

Technology
We design and write the software ourselves. Product, engineering and design sit in one team, in one city.
Venture
Each product is built to become a business, with its own customers, revenue and route to scale. We do not build features for other people.
Studio
The products share people, infrastructure and what we learn. A record, a payment rail or an insight built for one product is available to the next.

We build from the market our first users live in. Products are tested at real counters, farms and depots before they travel further.
